Dates, objects, documents, archaeology, reliable historical sources, established scientific research and definitions.

Where did this idea come from?

Who believed what — and when? Ideas have biographies, and they are rarely as old as they claim.

Perception, memory, attention, pattern recognition, and behaviour often explain more than mystery does.

What meanings have humans placed here?

The images and associations cultures have gathered around an idea, an object, or a gesture.

What could it mean?

Interpretation is valuable and it is not fact. It is always named as interpretation.

What remains possible but unproven?

Speculation may be creative and useful. It stays labelled as speculation.
