Long before mathematics became a science, it was a language of meaning. Litterae Numeratae is an attempt to hear both at once.
In Hebrew, letters are numbers. In Ancient Greek, letters are numbers. In many traditions, to write a word was already to perform a calculation. This is not superstition; it is design.
Modernity has largely separated the two alphabets — one for meaning, one for measure. Litterae Numeratae asks: what does the world look like when we put them back on the same page, even briefly?
